BLRB Architects office is looking for an BIM/Revit Manager to join our team. In continuous practice for 65 years, our firm is an award-winning specialist in educational architecture and is an acknowledged northwest regional leader in K-12 facility planning and design. Our office also serves commercial, hospitality and multi-family housing projects.

We are seeking an organized, self-motivated and experienced BIM Manager.  The position will provide BIM and technology management, with a focus on Revit, for the firm’s in-house, multi-disciplined design projects. Successful candidates will have strong architectural experience and advanced knowledge in current and emerging industry standard technology, tools and methodologies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prioritize and coordinate Revit and BIM initiatives across all disciplines and office locations. Develop BIM solutions that respond to the specific automation needs and demands of our projects.
  • Coordinate overall Revit file management.
  • Develop, document and implement standards and best practices. Develop, maintain and provide updates to Revit templates, procedures, and workflows. Mediate better integration of cross-disciplinary workflow via Revit.
  • Manage, update, and further develop and streamline BLRB Revit library and design assets including furniture, encore, lighting, and materials.
  • Assist teams with project startup, workflow, and coordination strategies.
  • Coordinate and/or conduct Revit training and presentations.
  • Review office projects to ensure that office-wide Revit documentation standards are met, including: naming conventions, office standards, and work sets composition are being followed and that any issues are being resolved.
  • Participate in management meetings to report and provide advice related to technical and staffing issues.
  • Manage technology related vendor partnerships. Collaborate with Autodesk and technology partners on BIM related errors or network issues, Ensure BIM software is up to date and licenses are accrued as needed.
  • Engage with all levels of the firm to promote technology and process innovation.
  • Strategically investigate leading-edge technologies related to BIM as well as related technologies that would benefit the firm in areas such as production, client presentations, office project management and project acquisition. Define adoption and implementation plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with marketing team and update BIM marketing material as needed.
  • Some travel between Oregon and Washington offices required.

Qualifications and Experience  The most successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Have advanced experience in Revit, SketchUp, BlueBeam and typical project management
  • Have an understanding of current and emerging VR technology and its integration into BIM software.
  • Have basic PC experience in Windows environments, working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines, and prioritize assignments.
  • Be self-motivated, well-organized, a good communicator and work effectively within a team.
  • Have experience effectively training all levels of staff on BIM technology.
  • Ability to learn quickly and willingness to adapt as circumstances change.
  • Be able to interpret architectural and structural design drawings at an expert level.
  • Experience working in an architectural firm or similar environment is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with architectural specifications/keynoting.
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction disciplines (preferred but not required).
