Urban Design Panel

Design Community Collaboration

The mission of the Urban Design Panel, comprising the American Institute of Architects (AIA), American Planning Association (APA) and the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA); a multidisciplinary team of local professionals to assist the City in maintaining high standards of urban design, and to review projects and policies related to our built environment. The Urban Design Panel is open to members of these three professional organizations and provides a combined focused voice of the goals and needs that are relevant to our community and our members.  The Executive Committee is comprised of two members from each professional organization that provides a direct link to their individual Board of Directors.

Urban Design Panel membership and the processes and professional standards utilized by the UDP in their review of projects and policies are endorsed by the Boards of Directors of AIA Portland, ASLA Oregon and the Oregon Chapter of the American Planning Association. The project-specific opinions of UDP members do not necessarily represent the opinions of their respective Boards of Directors.
