The AIA + 2030 Professional Series helps design professionals create buildings that meet the ambitious energy efficiency goals of the 2030 Challenge. Ten 4-hour sessions offer strategies to reach 60% reduction in fossil fuel greenhouse gas emissions, giving design professionals the knowledge and leverage to create next-generation, super-efficient buildings — and provide firms with the skills that will set them apart in the marketplace. HB 3316 in the 2011 Legislative Session changes the application of Qualification Based Selection, making our state meet national AIA goals for procurement of design services. Come learn about changes, ask questions, and voice concerns.
Presenter Cindy Robert is the founder and partner at Rainmakers LLP. She has been lobbying the Oregon State Legislature for over two decades, and is an expert in all aspects of government relations, legislative strategy, campaign development and advising, organizational development and governance structure, corporate partnership and leveraged packaging.

AIA Portland’s Friday Education (FRED) program enables you to receive your Continuing Education credit hours on the same day of the week. As the name suggests, a variety of classes on design, management, sustainability, and technical issues are offered at the Center for Architecture on most Fridays, totaling more than 100 CEU’s available this year. At the request of your fellow members, AIA Portland has been charged with organizing classes of exceptionally high caliber that respond to the interests of the Portland architectural community. We welcome your input and suggestions for new classes. Let us know if you’ve been inspired by a speaker or would like to learn more on a particular subject!
